After the signing of the MOU between the Institute for Research and Community Service, Universitas Brawijaya and the Agency for Human Resource Development and Empowerment of Village Communities, Disadvantaged Regions and Transmigration, Ministry of Village, Development of Disadvantaged Regions and Transmigration, Wednesday (14/12), BPSDM and PMDDTT team went to to IRCS UB to coordinate the implementation of the MOU. Dodi Wirawan Irawanto, PhD., as the secretary of IRCS UB welcomed them.

In his remarks, Dodi expressed his hope that BPSDM will support UB’s plan for the 1000 villages community service development program in 2023. “As an analysis of the selection of community service development for 1000 villages, through this MOU both parties are expected to conduct joint mapping with the assisted villages of Kemendesa,” said Dodi.

In response to this issue, the Head of the Center for Training and Empowerment of Village Communities, Disadvantaged Regions and Transmigration in Yogyakarta, Dr. Ir. Widarjanto, MM, explained that in strengthening academics in villages, the Kemendesa work with UB for mentoring/training programs to fullfill the need of mentors. In addition, we would also work in data and program information for villages to accelerate the implementation.

Furthermore, Heru Purwanto, S.Far., explained the Implementation of the MOU. The scope was data and information exchange, MBKM activities, thematic/independent Student Study Service, strategic village development studies, human resource capacity building and practice sharing, preparation of teaching materials for village communities, and other agreed activities.

As a significant point in following up on this MOU, the Chair of the Center for Community Service of IRCS UB, Dr. Susinggih Wijana explained that he would coordinate and confirm the synergy regarding the implementation of community assistance. In the future, we planned a workshop inviting local governments to develop programs in early 2023.
