The Gathering of LPPM-PTNBH

In the transformation of Brawijaya University into Legal Entity State University (PTNBH), University of Brawijaya Institute for Research and Community Services (LPPM UB) initiated to invite eleven LPPM PTNBH in Indonesia to “The Gathering of LPPM PTNBH” on Saturday, January 26th, 2019 in Apple Room, UB Guest House.

Head of LPPM UB, Dr. Bambang Susilo, in his remark stated that LPPM UB and LPPM UNS have great enthusiasm to initiate research and community service collaboration with Institute for Research and Community Services in Legal Entity State Universities (LPPM-PTNBH). In response to the remark, Head of LPPM-PTNBH team, Prof. Agik Suprayogi, actively encourage two new friends (UB and UNS) to transform into legal entity universities. He stated that eleven LPPM PTNBH represent this association for sharing experience and being ready to quickly and properly respond to information and requirement from Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education. By the formation of eleven LPPM PTNBH and two more participants to be PTNBH, there would be more power for conducting research in Indonesia and Higher Education based on every university vision and mission.

Also with great enthusiasm, University of Brawijaya Rector in opening this event stated, “I’m excited that Brawijaya is transforming into PTNBH ‘mualaf’. By God permission, in the near future UB will be PTNBH. Hopefully, UB is welcomed to this group.” He emphasized that the main problem faced by researchers is funding. He promised that he raise the research funds at 15 percent of PNBP UB in order to develop sustainable research including community services in the form of village coaching through interdisciplinary research to be utilized by the community.

In this gathering, there were also presented a material titled “Terms of Reference Work for Collaboration Research” by Ika Dewi Ana, Ph.D. as Vice Rector IV for Research and Community Services at Gadjah Mada University. Then two presentations from Head of Institute for Research and Community Services from UB, Dr. Bambang Susilo and UNS, Prof. Sulistyo related to “LPPM Transitional Preparation from Public Service Agency (BLU) into Legal Entity State Universities (PTNBH)”. Last, there was a general discussion about PTNBH guided by Prof. Agik Suprayogi.

From the common response and discussion, the term of reference revision would be shared to every university with the research collaboration funding from World Class University (WCU). The TOR then would be adjusted to each university mission and vision. Positive response declared by the participants for LPPM UB and LPPM UNS which have the high fund for supporting the research collaboration. Further, community service collaboration would be the next important focus to be conducted by LPPM-PTNBH.
