SIPP Improvement in University of Brawijaya

In increasing the effectivity to input the performance of institution, research and community services in University of Brawijaya, Institue for Research and Community Services University of Brawijaya (LPPM UB) held “ Information System for Research and Community Services (SIPP) Improvement in University of Brawijaya” on Feb 12th, 2019 at Klub Bunga Hotel & Resort

In his opening, Head of LPPM UB, Dr. Bambang Susilo stated that SIPP is required to help the institution work to collect the performance data. Before using this system, he stressed, the manual performance input takes time, energy and faces bureaucracy problems. Further, secretary of LPPM UB, Dodi W. Irawanto PhD., said that SIPP is important to manage 1) the quality and control of administration process for research and community process 2) database report to avoid data duplication. SIPP has long been created by LPPM, but it needs determination and commitment to immediately launch the system for facilitating research and community services funded by University of Brawijaya. Therefore, the cross-unit commitment from stakeholders, faculties, and LPPM is required.

Head of Brawijaya Information Technology Services (BITS), Achmad Basuki, PhD., justified that the SIPP software has been ready since a long time ago, but the use in the university has not been started yet. In this event, for the success of the program, he emphasized the urgency of communication and correction for the order of community services and research process. Therefore,   Head of BITS infrastructure and data division, R. Arif Setyawan, lead the discussion between BITS and LPPM UB in the session of clarification for business process and scheme detail for every system users.

The next agenda after this discussion would be SIPP socialization to researchers and the faculty agency for research and community services (BPPM) in University of Brawijaya in early March. By developing and implementing the system, hopefully, the accomplishment target for performance, accreditation, and management could be fulfilled.
