Universitas Brawijaya must be proud of its contribution to research and community service activities funded by the ministry, internal and others. With better management of research and community service budgeting as Legal Entity State University, Universitas Brawijaya is confirmed to raise its national and international levels.

To accommodate the outcomes of research and community service in a publication, especially through a collaboration scheme, the Institute for Research and Community Service (IRCS UB) held a Seminar on the Result of Research and Community Service Collaboration in a hybrid meeting on Tuesday, May 24, 2022. Unlike the previous year, there was a combination between seminar and the monitoring and evaluation of research and community service collaboration.

The event chaired by the Secretary of IRCS, Dodi Wirawan Irawanto, SE., M.Com., PhD. was attended by the Head of IRCS Prof. Luchman Hakim, S.Si., M.Agr.Sc., PhD., and opened by the Vice-Rector for Research and Innovation, Dr. Ir. Bambang Susilo, M.Sc.Agr. The first speaker was Prof. Devanto Shasta Pratomo, SE., M.Sc., PhD., who presented “Research Directions and Community Service Post Covid-19 Pandemic: Digital, Multidisciplinary and Sustainable”. The second was Eka Chandra Buana SE., MA. as the Director of Macro Planning and Statistical Analysis of the National Development Planning Agency, with the material “Increasing the Dissemination of Research Results in Supporting Recovery after the Covid-19 Pandemic”.

From the explanations shared by the two speakers, we can see that the pandemic has had a tremendous impact on human life. Not only for the economy but also for research and community service activities. These impacts cause Indonesia’s exports to be less competitive and dominated by goods with a lower value. One of the things that can encourage economic recovery is to conduct research and keep creating innovations. With research and innovation, Indonesia is expected to be able to adapt to all the changes that occur. To maintain and develop the nation competitiveness, research and innovation must be developed and carried out together, sustainably, and in synergy with all parties by prioritizing link and match, as well as multidisciplinary research.[lia/reva/ika]
