On Wednesday (19/10), Coca-Cola Europacific Partners (CCEP) Indonesia visited the Institute of Research and Community Service to discuss environmental preservation and community welfare. In maintaining bottle manufacturing in 8 production facilities and distributing water to 480 thousand of active consumers in Indonesia, CCEP Indonesia asked Universitas Brawijaya to join its program. The goal of the company was to build the future through sustainability business.
The strategic issues in the discussion were waste management, SMEs, and water conservation. Regional Corporate Affairs Manager of CCEP Indonesia, Armytanti Hanum Kasmito, stated that to make the environmental preservation program sustainable, we are looking for synergy with academicians through their recommendations. The program is entitled International Social Government (ISG).
The Head of IRCS UB, Prof. Luchman Hakim, welcomed the urgency of synergy in the ISG program. “At this moment, UB is encouraged to join industry and manufacturing. The ISG is a great opportunity for us to collaborate with the industry” said the Professor of Mathematics and Natural Science Faculty. Further, he added, hopefully, the success of the synergy could be a role model for other industries in conducting collaboration. “The collaboration will lead ISG to the local culture,” he expected.
In the deeper discussion, there would be only one main focused strategic issue: water conservation. Luchman said that Universitas Brawijaya is ready with the expertise and successful experience in handling the topic. The short-term target of UB and CCEP Indonesia collaboration was to repay the used water return to its resource.
